SOAR (Orientation)

Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) is a campus orientation and registration program for incoming students. During SOAR, you will work with academic advisors to develop your first-semester academic plan and enroll in classes. You will also meet other incoming students and discover campus resources and opportunities.

During the academic advising portion of SOAR, you will:

  • Meet one-on-one with professional advisors and peer advisors who will help you begin your academic journey
  • Learn the liberal studies requirements and choose courses that reflect you and your interests
  • Review your placement test scores
  • Discuss any AP, transfer, and other credits
  • Learn how to search for, choose, and enroll in classes
  • Discover how your classes and credits meet degree requirements
  • Learn how to make changes to your schedule
